Sandwich Lakes Kent Animal Trail

☀️ Due to the current hot weather, our Animal Trail is temporarily closed to allow our animals to rest and stay comfortable.

You may still be able to see some of our animals from the play park and car park areas, which remain open daily to Waterside Café customers from 8am–5pm.

Thank you for understanding we’ll reopen the trail as soon as conditions allow.

Take a stroll around the Animal Trail at Sandwich Lakes and meet some of our friendly resident animals along the way.

Set within our peaceful countryside grounds near Sandwich, Kent, the trail is a lovely addition to a family visit, caravan stay or trip to The Waterside Café. Children can explore the trail, meet the animals and enjoy the open countryside while the grown-ups relax and take in the surroundings.

Our Animal Trail is home to pigs, goats, chickens, sheep and alpacas, with seating and sheltered spots along the route.

Entry is free with a purchase from the Waterside Café or for guests staying onsite.

A Few Friendly Rules

To keep our visitors and animals happy and safe:

• Please supervise children around the animals
• Please do not enter the animal enclosures
• Only feed the animals if food has been provided or approved by our team
• Dogs must be kept on a lead around the Animal Trail
• Please treat all of our animals gently and respectfully
