The Sandwich Open 2026 produced a closely contested day’s fishing, with several impressive weights recorded across the venue and only ounces separating the top anglers.
Taking the overall title was John Warman, who claimed first place with an outstanding 72lb 6oz. A consistent day’s fishing saw John edge out a strong field to lift the Sandwich Open trophy.
Damson Lake section was won by Pete Joiner, whose excellent weight of 71lb 10oz left him just 12oz shy of the overall winner in one of the closest finishes of the day. On Victoria Lake section, Matthew Vater put together a quality net of 67lb 4oz to comfortably secure top spot in his section.
The runners-up positions were claimed by Itchy and Conrad, who both enjoyed productive sessions and were rewarded with well-deserved placings after a competitive day’s fishing.
